I welcome you to the Faculty of Education, University of Delta, Agbor where we train and prepare Preservice teachers with a touch of excellence in our bid of becoming a top ranked Faculty of Education in Africa. Our vision is to raise highly skilled, committed and motived, teachers who will change the narratives in the teaching profession. As a leading faculty, we encourage scholarship and visibility of our academic staff and students as they make contributions to human knowledge through academic research and empirical publications.
Our Brief History
The Faculty of Education is one of the eight Faculties established in the newly created University of Delta in February 2021. The Faculty is in its second academic session with students enrollment on all the approved programmes.
The Faculty formally resumed activities in September 2021 with the initial faculty members drawn from the defunct College of Education, Agbor. They were drawn from five Schools (School of Education, School of Early Childhood Care Education and Primary Education, School of Arts and Social Science, School of Languages and School of Vocational and Technical Education).
The Faculty started with four departments namely: Arts and Social Science Education; Science Education; Educational Foundation and Vocational and Technical Education but recently got the Senate Approval to expand to eleven Departments.

To nurture pre service and practicing teachers with adequate skills and knowledge that will enable them function effectively and efficiently.
OUR PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES.
The Philosophy of the Faculty of Education is honed on its Vision and Mission of producing teachers for Delta State, Nigeria and beyond, who will change the narratives of a poorly motivated work force to highly competent, skilled and intrinsically motivated educators. These educators will be equipped with adequate technologies and teaching strategies that will enable them to fit into modern classrooms and function effectively. In line with this dream, the Faculty is set to achieve the following
1. train skilled and knowledgeable teachers who will teach at the different levels of the education sector in Nigeria and beyond;
2. enhance the competence of preservice teachers to be able to function effectively in the society.
3. fill the gap of raising highly motivated and competent teachers for the Nigerian classrooms;
4. produce well grounded specialists in the different subject areas for the preprimary, primary and secondary schools
5. to produce high level manpower for tertiary institutions through graduate degree programmes
6. train in-service teachers and improve pedagogical delivery through high quality Workshops/Seminars and Certificate courses
7. raise competent teachers who will be able to meet the changing needs of learners in particular and the society in general raise a high bred Faculty members and set of graduates who will make contributions to human knowledge through academic research and empirical publications.
